Smart Choices program statistics for 2017.

As of November 2017 we still have fourteen Smart Choices teams operating in four countries and the total students reached since 2004 has exceeded 151,000. The teams have averaged 24,000 students a year for the last five years and the results so far for 2017 are as follows:

Successful Partnership (PLAEP, Zambia and GSPC, California)

Besides the success of the Renewal Conference conducted at the eMseni Conference center in Benoni during January of 2017, the other major achievement that came together in 2017 is the missionary partnership that has solidified between our Zambia partner "Partners for Life Advancement and Education Promotion" (PLAEP) and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Los Alamitos.

One of the strategies for sustainability that Beacon of Hope has, is to help our African partners to spread their pool of support by establishing a partnerships with an American Church.  Our goal is that they are not so financially dependent on Beacon of Hope for the success of their Smart Choices program and other ministries. As a result of regular and faithful participation on our annual mission trips by members of GSPC, the relationship was built steadily. You can read in item 7 below about GSPC's participation in the Musondo School building project. Subsequent to that, congregants have paid for the security wall around the school and financed the Smart Choices program for the second half of 2017.
