Hello From Africa -Melissa

Greetings everyone! Sorry for the late posting , but internet time is often hard to come by and there is often not a lot of time  for creating posts. Everything has gone well and rather smoothly overall.

The conference during the first week was fantastic. Thankfully our God was in control and HE showed up and accomplished what HE wanted with the week. I think we were able to serve our African brothers and sisters well and I think they felt refreshed, renewed, and hopefully a little spoiled by the end of the week. God is good. Unfortunately the team of 4 from Uganda never made it due to issues with their visas from the South African government.  We owe a great debt of gratitude to Pastor Jeff and Tammy Scorziell from Bulawayo Baptist, Dr John Tempelhof, Professor Gilbert Okoye, and Christianne Wendler US Embassy representative, for helping us with presentation coverage over the four conference days.
On Friday night we had a South African BBQ (Braai vleis) dinner followed by an ethnic dress and entertainment evening.
See our group picture.

I am now in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe with pastor Cyprian Shumba, his wife and two daughters. We are all staying together at a campground facility where we can do our own cooking or eat in the restaurant here. We had a wonderful time at his church fellowshiping and worshiping together yesterday. About 3 1/2 hours. We have a lot to learn as Americans. We plan to teach the Smart Choices HIV/ AIDS prevention program at 2 schools this week. Internet and technology of printing and saving files onto the tablet we have given him has been quite a challenge and as you all know, technology is not my specialty! Haha.
Thank you all for your prayers and will try to keep you updated when I can.
Hugs to you all from this side,
Melissa
