History:

Janet is married to Gilbert Okoye and they have three adult children. They are originally from Kenya but have been living in the Empangeni area of South Africa for a number of years and together they founded God's Intervention Centre Church.  Three years ago Beacon of Hope started the process of establishing a non-profit BOHI-KZN (Kwa-Zulu Natal province).  Initially we had all non-team members on the board but we are in the process of training and preparing the Smart Choices team leaders to serve on their own board.

Prayer:

Janet is training to be the treasurer and accountant for the team. This year she also took on the responsibility of applying for grant through the US Embassy for funds from President Bush’s PEPFAR program. Janet’s role in BOHI-KZN is going to be pivotal in the success of the non-profit. The PEPFAR officials have already conducted a phone interview with Janet and will also do an onsite visit. She would greatly appreciate your prayers for all of these endeavors.
